Shri Swami Bhumanand Dharmarth Trust was set up in 2000, with an aim of serving the poor and the needy, in the form of an eye hospital, under the name of Shri Bhumanand Dharmarth Chikitsalaya & Research Institute.
The Institute was later shifted to Ranipur Jhal Jwalapur in 2009. Now, the campus is located at Ranipur Jhal on the Delhi-Haridwar highway.
Bhuma Niketan Ashram Haridwar
Also, referred as the Bhuma Niketan Temple, the place serves both as a temple and a shelter for the visitors. The major attraction is the statue of Lord Shiva carrying the body of his first wife Sati, when she burnt herself in dishonour of her husband by her father.
Being a charitable trust, the organization provides free services, such as free food and shelter for the poor, the disabled and the old, alike. The rural population of India which is devoid of any medical aide, are reached out by organizing free eye care camps and dispensing free glasses and medications.
Providing free accommodation to the visitors, arranging mass marriages for girls of economically weaker section of the society, enabling widows to become self-dependent, and other innumerable undertakings have enabled the trust to mark its presence in the society.
Bhuma Niketan Hospital in Haridwar
The hospital set up by the trust, undertakes the activities of Research and Development apart from providing treatment. The R&D has been undertaken in the areas of Gastroenterology, Asthma/allergy, to name a few, and has emerged as a multi-specialty hospital.

Apart from providing medical aide, the trust has also established a school under the name of Bhuma Niketan school.How to Reach Bhuma Niketan in Haridwar
From Haridwar Railway Station or bus stand, go straight towards Har ki Pauri, where you will cross the Shiv Murti square. From Har ki Pauri, head straight towards where you will cross the Dudhadhari Chowk; continue in the right direction from the square, until you reach the another square showing two ways, with Saptarishi Road on the left. From there, take left on the Saptarishi Road and going straight, you will find the Bhuma Niketan on the right hand side.
You can visit the place any time throughout the year, exception would be the monsoon season, best period being from May to October.
